The Chamber of Commerce East Lancs has launched a new business network in a bid to stimulate growth in the Rossendale Valley.
‘Meet and Eat at the Chambers’ is a business-to-business networking group, where firms can forge contacts, debate hot topics that affect the region, and ultimately do business in a relaxed, informal environment.
The events, which are open to all businesses in East Lancashire, are being hosted at St Mary’s Chambers in Rawtenstall.
And the first one, which is free and takes place on Monday February 20, between 12 and 2pm, will feature a presentation from Andy MacNae, Councillor for Regeneration at Rossendale Borough Council.
Darren Grantham, from Chamber of Commerce East Lancs, said: “We are keen to stimulate growth in Rossendale and we see this as a key part of that strategy.
“The Chamber recently launched a Business Leaders Group in the area and this is the next step.
“Our aim is to shine a light on Rossendale and encourage businesses from across East Lancs to come into the Valley and forge new contacts.
“Rossendale is home to some great businesses and, because of its proximity to the motorway network, we believe it has great potential for future growth.”
The Chamber of Commerce East Lancs will deliver ‘Meet and Eat at the Chambers’ in partnership with Cassons Chartered Accountants, Viva PR, and web development company ISSL.
Les Nutter, Managing Partner at Cassons, said: “Rossendale has been crying out for something like this for a while so when the Chamber approached us about getting involved, we didn’t hesitate in saying ‘yes’.
“It’s an opportunity for businesses to come together and network, share tips on best practice, and hopefully do some business going forwards.
“The first event features a presentation from Andy MacNae, who will talk about the council’s plan to regenerate the Valley and the possible opportunities that presents to businesses.
“We will also be serving the best pie and peas this side of the Pennines!”
