Cassons Help for Haiti Day

On Wednesday 5 Feb we proved that you can have your cake and eat it! Cassons staff and partners all took part in a charity cake bake and raised an amazing £669 for the Disasters Emergency Committee fund for the Haiti earthquake. Our Help for Haiti Day also involved pie & pea lunch and charity raffle, with an incredible 29 prizes including comedy club tickets, a bouquet of flowers, chocolates and various bottles of wine. However, the prize for a manicure and full set of acrylic nails was won by tax partner Colin Tice – and was consequently auctioned!

Members of staff brought in homemade cakes to work and sold them to their colleagues, neighbouring businesses and visiting clients to raise money for the victims of the earthquake which devastated the Caribbean country last month.

Senior partner Ashley Hayman, said: “Our staff continue to come up with ingenious ways of raising money for a good cause but, I have to say, this has been one of my favourites. As well as extremely good accountants, we also appear to have some very talented bakers in our midst! The cakes were truly delicious.”

We are continuing to collect donations – and even orders for cakes – so please get in touch! Many thanks to everyone who contributed so far!
