Cassons' Eggheads Challenge

A team of ‘Eggheads’ from Cassons chartered accountants and business advisers made their TV debut on Tuesday 5 January 2010. The six colleagues appeared on the BBC quiz show Eggheads.

The show, which was presented by Jeremy Vine, pits a team of 'Eggheads' (made up of six highly regarded quiz and game show champions, rotating each episode) against a series of 'Challengers' who in each episode attempt to beat the Eggheads through a series of rounds. It was filmed at BBC Centre in White City.

Team captain Joanne Halsall, who is Cassons’ Business Support Manager, based at their office in Haslingden, said: “We had a really great time. It was nice to see that CJ, who is a bit of a diva on the show, was lovely in real life. They all came over and chatted to us, and made us feel really special.”

The other team members were: Carlton Cooper, Ashley Hayman and Jason Allcroft from Cassons, along with Pete Ingham and Robin Gower, who are both former employees of Cassons.

Joanne added: “We did really well. Jason and Robin won their rounds, knocking out two of the Eggheads, so it was three against three in the final. Unfortunately we were just pipped to the post in the final – there was just one question that we got wrong.”
