A glamorous dinner for accountants in Bolton has been hailed a resounding success by everyone who attended. Guests at the Bolton Society of Chartered Accountants Annual Dinner – held at the Reebok Stadium on Thursday (October 15) – enjoyed an entertainment-packed evening courtesy of comedian Dave Wolfe and the Bolton Youth Clarinet Quintet.
The event was organised by current society president Kay Rayner and, for the first time in the event’s history, there was a charity raffle in aid the Bolton Hospice. Kay, who is the audit and accounts manager at Cassons chartered accountants and business advisers, said: “Everybody congratulated me and said it was the best society dinner they had ever been to. They said it was really entertaining and upbeat. I think it helped having a comedian rather than a guest speaker! And, this year, for the first time, we introduced a charity element to the proceedings and we raised an incredible £1,251.50 for Bolton Hospice.”
Raffle prizes included a signed Bolton Wanderers football shirt, a necklace donated by Beaverbrooks in Bolton, a fourball at Bolton Golf Club and a £50 theatre voucher donated by Cassons.
Graham Yardley, chief executive of Bolton Hospice, said: “Bolton Hospice would like to thank the Bolton Society of Chartered Accountants for donating the proceeds of a raffle held at their Annual Dinner. The sum raised reflects the outstanding generosity of the members of the Society and their guests on the evening."
