Choosing your accounting date
However you operate your business, you will need to prepare annual accounts. You can choose the accounting date. Your choice may be dictated by commercial factors, for example, if your business has an annual cycle it may make sense to choose a date at the end of that cycle. You may also be influenced by the tax factors, as your choice of date will affect the timing of your tax payments.
