Responsible for specialist audits within the office such as pension schemes, charities and unlisted PLCs and advising and assisting professional partnerships, particularly solicitors' practices.
Career
Qualified as a chartered accountant with Touche Ross (now Deloitte) in 1984. Shortly after, the Burnley office merged with J B Lever & Co which subsequently changed its name to Cassons. Became an Associate in 1998 and a partner in 2002.

Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the North West Society of Chartered Accountants.

I mix together as many as possible - we have more cereals in our house than Tesco

Flukes (people thought I was lucky at sport - but it was genuine ability!)
What irritates you the most & why?
Waiting in traffic queues - I'll drive miles out of my way to avoid them (I guess I'm impatient)

When Blackburn Rovers won the Premiership

Something from Marks & Spencer, preferably microwaveable

My wife's eternity ring - when I buy it!
