Responsibilities
Tax planning and consultancy for both personal and corporate clients, including tax planning with trusts. Covers all aspects of taxation and special situations. Oversees tax compliance functions in both offices.
Career
Joined the firm (then J B Lever & Co.) from school in 1977. Qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986 and became a partner in 1993.
Professional memberships
Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and the Institute's Tax Faculty.

What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding?
Client satisfaction obviously, or maybe I prefer the golf days!
How long have you been in your current business?
Business develops continually so about a week but I've been with the firm over 30 years (I know, I don't look that old!).
Which famous person would be your dream work colleague & why?
Gordon Ramsay - not for the cooking as much as his business acumen which is outstanding and his language is right up my street! Although I reckon it would turn into a Hell's Kitchen stand off!
What law would you introduce if you were made Prime Minister & why?
Tax law is far too complicated. It needs a real overhaul.
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you'd spend your winnings on?
First thing would be connected to alcohol, longer term would depend on how much I won.
What did you want to do when you grew up?
On the back of the Apollo spacecraft, an astronaut - still looking for the stars!
If you were to choose an alternative career, what would it be?
Lumberjack or lion tamer - Michael Palin had it right.
Most treasured possession?
The current glass of Sicilian red, but maybe not in 5 minutes! Possessions - who cares!
Favourite pastime?
I try to play golf - its a nice way to pass the time.
Do you believe in aliens?
Hard to believe that anyone could not. Time will tell.
