As a business grows, so its management may need strengthening. Maybe you need to recruit a higher calibre production director. Or perhaps you need a sales director to do effectively the job you no longer have the time to do yourself. It is possible that you have taken the business as far as you can and it needs more professional management to take it forward. We have recruited new managing directors a few times in these circumstances.
There is sometimes an uncomfortable stage in a company’s growth when it needs a senior executive but has not yet got a big enough job to attract the right person or a big enough budget to afford them. One or two days a week may be all that is needed at this stage.
